Paid Prenatal Leave for Employees

New York requires employers to give 20 hours of paid sick leave for prenatal care in addition to regular sick leave. There is no exemption from this rule for small businesses. The state law became effective on January 1, 2025. NYC, as of July 2, 2025, requires employers to have a written prenatal care policy reflecting the state's law.
