2026 Wage Updates for New York Employers

Seyfarth Synopsis: Beginning January 1, 2026, the minimum wage and overtime exemption salary thresholds across New York State will increase. 

Minimum Wage Increases for 2026 

  • New York City, Long Island and Westchester: $17.00 

  • Remainder of New York State: $16.00 

  • Overtime Exemption Salary Threshold Increases 

  • New York City, Long Island and Westchester: $1,275/week ($66,300.00/year) 

  • Remainder of New York State: $1,199.10/week ($62,353.20/year) 

Employers operating in New York should review and revise their pay policies and procedures to ensure compliance with these new wage and salary thresholds.
